FAQ's

Is there a cost to become an NBBOA Ambassador?

Yes. Approved Ambassadors must join NBBOA and submit a one-time $99 activation fee, which covers a background check, NBBOA-branded business card design, digital welcome materials, and shipping (if applicable). This fee ensures each Ambassador is equipped and aligned with NBBOA’s professional standards.

Can I be an Ambassador and still run my own business?

Absolutely. In fact, many of our Ambassadors are entrepreneurs, professionals, or community leaders. The Ambassador role is designed to complement your work and expand your reach,  not compete with it.

Is this the same as starting an NBBOA chapter?

No, but it can be a stepping stone. Ambassadors are not required to manage a chapter, but those who demonstrate consistent leadership, community engagement, and member growth may be invited to launch a formal NBBOA Chapter in their area.

Is this a salaried position?

No, the NBBOA Ambassador role is not a salaried position. It is a volunteer leadership role designed for individuals who are passionate about economic empowerment and community-building. However, Ambassadors do have access to multiple commission-based revenue streams through referrals, sponsorships, event promotions, and program enrollments. Many Ambassadors also leverage their visibility to grow their own businesses and platforms while playing a meaningful role in the success of others. This is a high-impact, low-barrier opportunity to earn while you serve. It also provides the potential to evolve into greater leadership or chapter opportunities within NBBOA.

How do Ambassadors get paid?

Ambassadors earn income through commission-based referrals. Each Ambassador is provided with a referral form or unique tracking method to capture credited referrals. Commissions are earned on qualifying actions such as new membership signups, event registrations, program enrollments, select sponsorship referrals, directory ads, and media features.

All approved commissions are paid monthly, and Ambassadors receive regular updates on their referral activity. NBBOA tracks all submissions and will issue payment on the first week of each month via the method provided during onboarding.

Do you provide marketing material and training?

Yes! As an NBBOA Ambassador, you’ll receive a comprehensive digital Welcome Kit that includes ready-to-use marketing materials such as flyers, social media templates, logos, and branded graphics. You’ll also be invited to exclusive onboarding sessions, leadership calls, and private trainings designed to equip you for success. Whether you’re promoting NBBOA programs or engaging with your local community, you’ll have the tools and support you need to lead with excellence.
